Global Lead, Women's Protection and Empowerment

• Lead the transformation of IRC's Women's Protection and Empowerment practice
• Act as the organizational reference point on GBV prevention and response, women's empowerment, and WPE systems strengthening
• Lead strategic direction for WPE in line with S100 and the Safety Strategy
• Identify global programmatic risks and elevate issues to Regional Leads and VPRU leadership
• Lead global WPE business development and advocate for sustainable funding architectures
• Steer adaptation of the WPE operating model
• Collaborate with Global Practice Leads and Regional Leads to promote programmatic synergies
• Line manage global practice area and strategic project staff
• Provide technical oversight of WPE standards, methodologies, and tools
• Support Regional Leads, Technical Advisors, and Technical Coordinators with technical problems, capacity strengthening, mentorship, and career planning
• Guide research, evidence use, data interpretation, and learning routines
• Establish and maintain Communities of Practice
• Represent IRC externally and build thought leadership across cross-sector platforms
• Advise Policy and Advocacy, Research and Innovation, and External Relations
• Develop strategic relationships with donors, UN agencies, INGOs, academia, social justice organizations, and financing institutions
• Lead the WPE global team through transition and support staff wellbeing
• Invest in relationships with field practitioners and contribute to VPRU culture and shared leadership

• Established or growing recognition as an expert at regional or global level
• 12+ years of progressive experience designing, leading, and implementing programs
• 7+ years in GBV/WPE
• Strong track record of driving uptake of evidence-based practice
• Experience in sectoral strategy design and planning
• Experience with policy and advocacy efforts and campaigns for change
• Demonstrated interest in social work systems, case management practice, or integrated protection service delivery models
• Intellectual engagement with financing of protection and prevention programming
• Experience working across sectoral boundaries is a strong asset
• Ability to shape transformative vision and agenda
• Ability to identify and convert business development opportunities
• Excellent communication, influencing, and storytelling skills
• Capacity to lead, grow, and sustain high-performing teams, including through transition
• Ability to influence diverse stakeholders
• Comfort engaging across donors, civil society, social justice movements, financing organizations, and academic communities
• Fluency in English required;
  Arabic, French, and/or Spanish welcome
• Ability to travel globally up to 20% of the time
• Master's/post-graduate degree in Social Work, Social Policy, Gender Studies, International Law, Human Rights Law, International Development, Public Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Sound training and/or demonstrated experience using data and research evidence for programmatic decisions

Demonstrates expertise in Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and response, with a strong focus on women's empowerment and programmatic strategy development. Proven ability to lead high-performing teams, advocate for sustainable funding, and engage with diverse stakeholders across sectors.
