Editorial Assistant; NYC Hybrid- HarperOne Group

Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an Editorial Assistant to join the Harper One Group!

The Editorial Assistant will provide administrative and editorial support for two editors on a variety of nonfiction titles including narrative nonfiction, essay collections, memoir, personal development, spirituality, and health and wellness.

• Maintains communication with authors and agents.
• Under close supervision, drafts jacket copy, flap copy, sales notes, and fact sheets.
• Assist supervisors in the acquisition process by reading and evaluating manuscripts and proposals, drafting rejection letters, preparing acquisition materials, as well as conducting sales research, creating P&Ls, Acquisition Memos, and drafting contract paperwork.
• Transmits manuscripts and coordinates the publication process by liaising with other departments.
• Provides administrative and editorial support and assists in coordinating the publication process from manuscript to book.
• Drafts correspondence, memos, and completes internal forms; masters intranet programs.

• College degree or equivalent work experience
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
• Excellent communication skills
• Exceptional writing skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point

The salary for this position is $52,500. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.
