Program Management Director

Location: East Aurora

A leading aerospace and defense technology company is seeking a Program Management Director to lead its program management function across a multi-business-unit division focused on high-reliability space and defense solutions. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving consistency in processes, tools, and best practices while directly leading program management teams across three distinct business units. What You Will Do Lead and develop the program management function across multiple business units, including direct leadership of program management personnel Develop, train, and oversee implementation of functional strategies and objectives for program management Establish program baselines that ensure execution meets or exceeds proposal margin targets Identify and implement improved program management processes, tools, and best practices Build and mentor senior program management leadership across the division Create performance metrics, dashboards, and management tools to monitor effectiveness Review underperforming programs, develop mitigation plans, and oversee recovery execution Position program management as a growth enabler for revenue and operating profit Manage customer relationships at the executive level

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Science (MBA preferred) Minimum 10 years of program management experience with demonstrated leadership capability PMP certification or equivalent Proven ability to develop functional strategies and implement large-scale processes Experience leading in a matrixed organization Demonstrated success managing executive-level customer relationships Background in Aerospace and Defense or other highly regulated industries Ability to work full-time, on-site at the Roanoke, Virginia area facility
