DBI Projects is looking for a Director of Marketing and Business Development to guide the company’s ongoing growth. From DBI’s headquarters in New York City, the Director will be responsible for enabling and catalyzing growth across the company’s New York, Philadelphia, Boston, and Austin offices, as well as expanding the company’s footprint into new sectors and within existing markets. The Director will be responsible for developing strategies and driving activities to meet the company’s revenue goals.
DBI Projects is a leading owner’s representation firm specializing in project management and real estate advisory. DBI’s primary client base includes K-12 schools, universities, arts and cultural institutions, developers, commercial and retail companies, residential co-ops and condos, nonprofit organizations, and public agencies.
Responsibilities will include:
- Growth Planning: Work with company leadership to develop and implement strategic growth plans for key focus areas, including the Boston, Philadelphia, and Austin regions, as well as the public, workplace, arts and culture, and independent school markets
- Brand Positioning: Identify, evaluate, and present opportunities to advance the company’s position in the market; oversee the development of all marketing materials and activities; manage the firm website and online presence
- Proposal and Pursuit Management: Direct and oversee the development of all proposals, qualifications packages, and pitch decks; guide the full lead development process from inception to award
- Lead Development and Client Cultivation: Collaborate with company leadership to drive new business; find, research, and develop leads; build relationships within DBI's client base and market sectors; foster company culture of business development
- Networking and Events: Identify and evaluate relevant networking opportunities for the firm; coordinate the team’s involvement in events and conversations; represent DBI in these events and discussions; coordinate firm speaking and thought leadership opportunities; host and coordinate networking events in the office
- Design and Photography: Oversee the design of all marketing materials and graphics; commission and coordinate project photography
- Management: Manage a team of two direct reports; contribute to company leadership meetings and discussions
- Reporting: Report periodically to company Principals on growth projections and marketing activities; manage department recordkeeping, CRM, and budget
Location:
This position is in our New York City office, 5 days a week in-person.
Occasional travel is expected to attend target conferences and to develop relationships and leads in Philadelphia, Boston, and Austin.
Required
Skills and Experience:
- 10+ years of experience marketing in the AEC (architecture, engineering, and construction) or real estate industries
- Experience winning business in DBI’s key project sectors
- 5+ years of experience developing and writing proposals
- Strong communication design skills and proficiency working in In Design
- Strong understanding of the industry and knowledge of DBI’s competitive landscape

The salary range for this full-time role is $150-$200K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary.
