Job Description

MON- THUR 6AM- 4:30 PM, OVERTIME FRIDAYS AS NEEDED

The anticipated wage for this role is $17.50 per hour. In addition, this role is eligible for quarterly team bonuses, yearly attendance bonus of 2% of your annual earnings, and quarterly rewards of extra PTO.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Basic disassembly and washing, and reassembly of freight or locomotive valves or brake pistons.
  • Operation of semi-automatic equipment i.e. pedestal buffers, hand buffers, wash machines, ultra-sonic washers.
  • Handle valves, parts, tools in a safe manner.
  • Proper use of power and manual tools. i.e. impact wrenches, drills, EZ Outs, hand tools.
  • Understand and comply with all quality and safety rules, guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Perform hazardous waste management duties as necessary. Annual hazardous waste management will be completed. Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Ground Shipper will be completed every three (3) years.
  • Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
  • Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
  • Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.
Skills and Competencies
  • Technical Capacity
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted best practices and theory.
  • Good mechanical skills
  • Knowledge of shop use measuring devices.
  • Ability to complete disassembly process without destroying parts.
  • Basic knowledge of quantitative methods/statistical procedures and graphic skills.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands

The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
  • One to Two years of related experience.

The anticipated wage scale for candidates who will work in Riverside, MO is $17.50 per hour. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. New York Air Brake is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations.
