Salary Range: $23.00/hr

We are seeking a Purchasing clerk to join our team! The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for collaborating with suppliers for daily product purchases, working with vendors to purchase goods daily participating in weekly inventory process.
Essential Functions- Plan purchasing requirements based on customer volume, menu selection and production scheduling specifications.
- Coordinate purchasing function for a $40 million In-Flight Catering Service
- Ensure proper inventory levels of Dry Goods, meats, fish, poultry, fruits and vegetables are on hand.
- Coordinate product delivery schedules to ensure items remain fresh to minimize spoilage.
- Coordinate a just-in-time delivery process for certain high volume and perishable products.
- Implement purchasing procedures to ensure effective product cost control.
- Evaluate and select vendors that meet quality, price and delivery specification.
- Analyze and interpret numerical data and perform basic financial analysis.
- Report item cost of goods purchased compared to projected cost for menu items.
- Facilitate uniform quality standards in food safety.
- Ensure compliance of Corporate Food service Standards.
- Responsible for ETEC system accuracy for purchasing and receiving product.
- Conduct periodic inventory of purchased product storerooms
- Participates in continuous improvement efforts.
- Food Service experience required
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Buyer (Food, Perishables, Consumer Goods experience preferred)
- Proficient knowledge of the Supply Chain Process (purchasing procedures, inventory/production/cost reduction initiatives)
- Understanding of menu breakdowns and menu costing
- Proficient with computer purchasing software and Excel
- Must have good communications skills and be able to work with other departments
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, specifically in Excel
This position doesn't have supervisory responsibilities.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a food-manufacturing environment. This role routinely encounter varying temperatures.
