Role Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic at Perrigo NY is responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting the mechanical aspects of manufacturing and packaging equipment and facilities in compliance with standard operating procedures. The position must complete work orders performing a wide variety of skilled maintenance activities and must be able to conduct and perform maintenance, repair, improvements, set-ups, troubleshooting, follow up, Root Cause Analysis, Reliability Maintenance and report to supervisor on all packaging, and compounding equipment.
The candidate must be capable to handle any special assignments and projects as deemed necessary by the Maintenance Supervisor, Master Mechanic and or Manager, be able to work rotational schedules as required based on business needs and must be able to work overtime with or without prior noticed for a completion of any project or request made by the department.
This position requires the ability to work under little to general supervision and the ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the performance of any assigned tasks based on the set time provide by the supervisor.
- Complete daily Maintenance Tracker, to inform Master Mechanic and/or supervisor when walk-through of designated areas are conducted throughout the day.
- Perform preventive maintenance to all packaging, compounding and warehouse equipment.
- Perform packaging, and compounding equipment repairs as required (MTCE).
- Perform training to production personnel in the proper use of equipment.
- Perform equipment set-up, fine tune and troubleshooting of equipment utilizing ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS methods.
- Required:
Five (5) years of hands on mechanical experience with packaging equipment from either Pharmaceutical, food, packaging or another similar manufacturing environment. Successful completion of a certification program that is accredited and recognized in the areas of mechanical engineering/mechanical design/troubleshooting etc. - Required:
OR Three (3) years as a Perrigo Set Up Tech plus at least two years of completed education and active enrollment in a Mechanical/Industrial/Production/Electromechanical Engineering program from an accredited university/college

- CNC Operators Experience
- Active enrollment in a Mechanical/Industrial/Production/Electromechanical Engineering program from an accredited university/college (as part of the alternative experience path).
