JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Sanitation Lead
Shift: 1st & 2nd
Schedule: Monday through Friday (it may change at any time based on business needs)
Reports To: Facilities Manager
Employment Status: Full Time
FLSA Classification: Hourly/ Non-Exempt
Compensation Range: $18.50 - $21.00
Job SummaryThe Sanitation Lead works very closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure that the company adheres to all sanitation protocols in food manufacturing.
Job Responsibilities- Create and review all daily sanitation schedules with Facilities Manager.
- Daily inspections of equipment and company areas.
- Document review of completed sanitation tasks.
- Training of sanitation team in chemical safety, chemical handling, and SSOPs.
- Prepare for plant audits and sanitation meetings.
- Create staffing schedules based on business needs.
- Ensure that the proper people are in place to complete specific tasks promptly.
- Provide feedback and coaching to members of the team.
- Bring team performance concerns to direct report.
- Work with HR regarding staff policies, procedures, company, and Union CBA compliance.
- Communicate and follow up on all assigned tasks.
- Any other tasks based on the needs of the sanitation department.

- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to train and supervise sanitation personnel.
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures, including the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills.
- Computer literacy (basic computer programs like Microsoft Word and Excel).
- Associate degree and/or a combination of some education and work experience.
- 2-4 years of hands‑on leading and guiding the sanitation function and/or manufacturing experience.
- Temperatures will vary depending on the area of the plant. This includes offices, packing lines, baking oven, washing room, warehousing, etc.
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, push, and pull equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Walking: move about inside and outside of the plant.
- Standing for long periods.
