Materials Engineer
The Production Associate Manager, RTW – Materials is responsible for supporting Ready-to-Wear production with a focus on fabrics and trims. This role oversees materials inventory, purchase order management, compliance and testing, quality reporting, and seasonal materials tracking. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to partner closely with internal teams and external vendors.
Responsibilities- Manage production materials inventory across fabrics and trims.
- Oversee materials, lead purchase orders and ensure accurate handoff of forecasts to finished goods vendors.
- Track and report on buy calendars and global material liabilities.
- Prepare periodic inventory reports and support sell-off or reuse strategies for non-seasonal materials.
- Oversee compliance and testing, including coordination with testing centers and updates to testing requirements based on international regulations.
- Maintain and update negotiated material prices in RLM.
- Review and troubleshoot materials quality inspection reports and support issue resolution, including discount negotiations where applicable.
- Maintain the library of materials OCs and ensure data accuracy in the PLM system.
- Manage PPS materials in line with seasonal calendars.
- Support materials-related repair, claim, and discount processes where needed.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure timely and accurate execution.
- 3–5+ years of experience in production, materials management, sourcing, or a related Ready-to-Wear function.
- Experience managing fabrics and trims in a production environment.
- Strong understanding of materials purchase orders, inventory tracking, and vendor coordination.
- Familiarity with materials compliance, testing, and quality processes.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills required; PLM and/or RLM experience preferred.
- Experience with global trims inventory management and booking is a plus.
- Exposure to BOMs and adjacent product development functions is a plus.
The targeted base salary range for this role is $65,000-$70,000. Actual salary offered may be outside of this range based on factors such as, relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This role is eligible for company health benefit programs and additional benefits, including participation in an annual performance-based incentive program, a seasonal clothing allowance, and a 401k match program.
