Job Description

This role focuses on performing detailed electrical and electronic inspections on circuit boards and related assemblies in a manufacturing environment. You will use a variety of test equipment to verify performance, troubleshoot issues at the component level, and ensure all products meet specified quality and safety standards. This position offers a contract-to-permanent path and the opportunity to work on cutting-edge electronics projects involving assembly, testing, and builds.

Responsibilities

+ Perform electrical and electronic inspections on circuit boards, systems, and support structures to verify quality and conformance to specifications.

+ Inspect components, units, subassemblies, wiring, and assembly casings using appropriate tools and equipment such as rivets, bolts, soldering tools, or micro-welding equipment.

+ Use oscilloscopes, voltmeters, analyzers, scopes, and other electrical testing equipment to test and evaluate circuits and assemblies.

+ Adjust, repair, or replace electrical and electronic components to correct defects and ensure compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.

+ Clean parts and assemblies using cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths to maintain a safe and organized work area.

+ Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and reports to determine material requirements and assembly or repair instructions.

+ Position, align, and adjust work pieces or electrical parts to facilitate accurate wiring, assembly, and testing.

+ Troubleshoot analog and digital circuits at the component level to identify root causes of failures or performance issues.

+ Use hand tools, calipers, and other precision instruments to perform measurements, adjustments, and mechanical assembly tasks.

+ Confer with supervisors to plan or review work activities, prioritize tasks, and resolve production or quality problems.

+ Explain assembly procedures, inspection methods, and techniques to other workers to support training and knowledge sharing.

+ Document work performed, test results, and any repairs or adjustments made in accordance with internal procedures and quality requirements.

Essential Skills

+ Experience performing electrical and electronic inspection on boards, systems, and assemblies.

+ Proficiency in using oscilloscopes, voltmeters, analyzers, scopes, and other electrical testing equipment gained through school, internships, or professional experience.

+ Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and technical reports.

+ Hands-on experience with assembly and inspection of electronics, including components, subassemblies, wiring, and casings.

+ Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing analog and digital circuits at the component level, with at least 1+ years of relevant experience.

+ Skill in using hand tools, including those for assembly and testing circuits, as well as precision measurement tools such as calipers.

+ Demonstrated ability to perform quality inspection activities and ensure conformance to specifications.

+ Trade school certificate in electronics, electrical, or a related technical field.

+ Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with mechanical aspects of electronic assemblies.

+ Ability to follow detailed instructions, maintain accuracy, and work efficiently in a manufacturing environment.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Associate degree in electronics or a similar technical discipline is preferred.

+ Associate degree in electrical or electronic engineering or technology is preferred but not required.

+ Previous experience in a manufacturing or electronics/PCB assembly environment.

+ Strong communication skills to collaborate with supervisors and explain procedures to other team members.

+ Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards in all inspection and repair activities.

+ Comfort working with both analog and digital electronics in a production setting.
