Production Assistant - Racking Emphasis

Job Summary

The Production Assistant — with Racking Emphasis plays a key role in supporting production operations with a primary initial focus on racking activities within the printing department. This position is responsible for inspecting printed materials for accuracy and quality, properly racking and organizing parts for downstream processes, and assisting in additional production tasks such as inspection, lamination, de‑slugging, waste stripping, and general support work.

This role requires strong attention to detail, adaptability, and consistent adherence to written instructions and quality standards.

• Inspect printed materials against job bag standards and quality expectations.
• Rack and organize materials for efficient transfer to next production stage.
• Follow written procedures and complete production records as required.
• Support other production processes as needed (e.g., inspection, lamination, deslugging, reclaiming, cleaning).
• Verify color, registration, and print quality and report any discrepancies or defects.
• Maintain an organized and clean work area and follow safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with Printing, Ink, and Production team members to support workflow.
• Perform additional related duties to support production goals.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to understand and follow work order instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Basic math skills and ruler measurement ability.
• Above‑average hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

• 1–3 months of related experience in a manufacturing or print setting preferred; on‑the‑job training is available.
• Ability to recognize color, design, and print quality standards.

• Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle materials.
• Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, or crouching.
• Ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds as needed.
• Visual acuity required for part inspection and reading work orders.

• Moderate noise typical of a manufacturing and printing environment.
• Exposure to moving equipment and production materials.
• PPE may be required based on assigned tasks.

• Ability to work Monday‑Friday 7am to 3:30pm with overtime as required.
• Ability to multitask.
• Attention to detail.
• Good attendance habits.
