Day To Day Responsibilities- Provide operational leadership in the manufacture of products for Corning's automotive ceramic substrates, light duty filters, heavy duty diesel substrates and filters business in the Erwin Manufacturing Complex. Lead the activities of production teams to support plant objectives by developing and implementing plans to maintain a safe work environment, manufacture quality products and maximize operational efficiency and output.
- Lead production operations with responsibility for ceramic extrusion and scaling to support increased demand.
- Direct reports consist of team leaders overseeing forming and finishing operations.
- Coordinate cross‑functional resources across engineering, quality, maintenance, and support functions to meet output, quality, and uptime goals.
- Align hourly workforce to reflect business levels.
- Ensure compliance with Plant and Corporate rules and expectations, including Plant Policies, Procedures, Safety and housekeeping, Quality Systems, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, and production goals.
- Drive safety for the department.
- Drive process control and process discipline (PCPD) and manufacturing basics in the department, including front‑line supervisor training for team leaders.
- Provide effective coaching and constructive feedback to develop team leaders and hourly employees.
- Define, plan and execute programs and projects to improve productivity and reduce costs.

- Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm; additional hours may be needed.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years previous leadership experience or equivalent technical or engineering experience.
- Experience working on technical problems or teams with technicians.
- Prior budget responsibility.
- Excellent customer service and people skills.
- Ability to train, coach, and direct others.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in ceramic extrusion or ceramic manufacturing processes.

Salary range: $80,750.00 – $, assuming full‑time status. Starting pay depends on geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
