EH&S Wastewater Maintenance Specialist 1st shift

This is an hourly position with Local 475, rate of pay is $32.31/hr

• Proper containment, labeling, staging, and storage of various hazardous and non‑hazardous waste streams in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., RCRA)
• Prepare internal and external reports
• Operate and maintain the on‑site wastewater treatment system, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with regulatory discharge limits
• Perform and record daily system checks, flow rates, pH levels, and chemical dosing
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on wastewater treatment systems, pumps, valves, sensors, and associated equipment to ensure optimal operation and prevent breakdowns
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions, leaks, clogs, and alarms in wastewater and fume scrubber systems
• Maintain equipment logs, service records, and maintenance schedules according to manufacturer guidelines and internal procedures
• Conduct routine inspections of eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, fire control valves, spill kits, etc.
• Assist with Velocity Hazard  and follow up
• Participate as EHS representative in TPM, CI, and Kaizen events

• Ability to lift and work in environments with exposure to industrial chemicals, fumes, and noise
• Required to wear PPE including gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, and protective clothing
• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in variable weather conditions
• Obtain and maintain RCRA (annual) and DOT (every three years) Certification
• Obtain Forklift and man lift certification
• Obtain Lockout‑Tagout Training
• Obtain Confined Space Training
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and entry of data in computer programs
• Previous experience with Chemical Management preferred
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)
• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Lift from floor to waist – 30 pounds
• Lift from waist to shoulder level – 30 pounds

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to moderate cold and moderate heat. Exposure to the production facility includes loud noise, fumes, and moving equipment.
