Fabric Development Coordinator

Our client, a wholesale manufacturing company in retail is looking for a Fabric R&D / Fabric Development Coordinator in NYC!

• Research and analyze market trends across apparel categories, brands, and retailers to identify relevant material and product direction
• Support the development and sourcing of fabrics and materials for a variety of apparel classifications
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners throughout the product development process
• Assist with material approvals, sample tracking, testing coordination, and development follow-up
• Evaluate fabrics and materials for overall quality, performance, and aesthetic consistency
• Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and production partners to help ensure timelines and standards are met
• Help resolve development and production challenges related to materials and fabrication
• Maintain organization of development records, approvals, and project updates

• 3+ years of experience
• Understanding of textile construction, materials, and garment finishing processes
• Familiarity with trend-driven product development and commercial market direction
• Experience working with external vendors, factories, or manufacturing partners preferred
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines
• Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally
