Location: New York
Production Associate (Children’s Apparel)
A New York City–based children’s apparel and toy company is seeking a detail‑oriented Production Associate to support the development and production of kids wear and related products. This role assists in managing the production process from pre‑production samples through bulk delivery, ensuring all products meet brand standards for quality, safety, and design. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career in children’s apparel production.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in style handoff meetings to understand garment specs, fabrics, trims, and construction details
- Support the production process across lab dips, fabric approvals, pre‑production (PP), and TOP samples
- Maintain and update Work In Progress (WIP) trackers for all styles and purchase orders
- Communicate with overseas factories to follow up on sample status, revisions, and timelines
- Help prepare packaging and labeling guidelines in line with retailer and safety requirements
- Participate in sample reviews to ensure fit, quality, and design meet children’s apparel standards
- Work with Quality Assurance to support compliance with CPSIA and safety regulations
- Assist with price ticketing and product data accuracy
- Coordinate sending samples to Sales & Marketing for photoshoots and presentations
- 1–3 years of experience or internships in children’s apparel, fashion production, or related field
- Basic knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and trims (kidswear a plus)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working with Excel and production tracking systems
- Strong communication skills, especially when working with overseas vendors
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
