Job Summary
The Aftermarket Quality Coordinator is responsible for inspecting materials, processes, and products, ensuring compliance with new and existing quality standards, implementing quality management actions, and contributing to the development of company policies and procedures. With collaboration and coordination with Aftermarket Material Management, this role regularly inspects materials, audits documentation, and works promptly to help facilitate the resolution of non-conformances. The Aftermarket Quality Coordinator is also responsible for identifying and leading continuous improvement initiatives within the Aftermarket Fulfillment Center operations.
PrincipleDuties And Responsibilities (essential Functions)
- Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, tests, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
- Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.
- Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management or appropriate parties.
- Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
- Ensures tooling being used is calibrated. May assist in the calibration of tooling & equipment.
- Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management.
- Works with subject matter experts to perform process improvements and recommends efficiency gains as appropriate.
- Develops standard operating procedures (SOPs) for aftermarket fulfillment center operations aimed at supporting improving upon a 48-hr pick-pack and ship from order receipt goal.
- Assists in other functional areas as necessary to maintain business continuity and during high demand periods.
- Maintains an unwavering commitment and supports leading safety policies and procedures and program practices.
- Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
- Other job tasks and duties as needed and assigned to support the production goals of the company.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Project Management software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
- Computer skills including experience with SAP preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively, apply critical thinking, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Basic understanding and knowledge of continuous improvement concepts. Lean and/or Six Sigma experience is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to follow processes and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as a strong member of a team.
- A 2-year Technical Degree and 2 years of hands‑on experience in a similar role. OR, a high school diploma and 3 years of hands‑on experience in a similar role.
- Minimum of 1 year forklift experience.
- A valid driver’s license.
