Job Summary

Our high-end plaster moulding shop in Greenpoint, Brooklyn is seeking an experienced craftsman/carpenter/pattern and mould maker to join our team. This role involves hands-on work in creating intricate forms and moulds, assisting with shop operations, and collaborating closely with our skilled team.

Responsibilities
  • Fabricate and assemble patterns, moulds, and forms according to project specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and plans to accurately produce components.
  • Work with curves, wiggle boards, and various formwork materials to create precise shapes.
  • Operate shop tools and machinery safely and efficiently, including (but not limited to) saws, drills, and hand tools.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects on schedule while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Operate a waterjet machine (training provided if needed).
  • Assist with general shop duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a craftsman, carpenter, or mould/pattern maker, preferably in a high-end shop environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings with precision.
  • Experience with curves, wiggle boards, and formwork is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with waterjet machines is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Reliable and punctual; able to work in-person Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to shop-specific techniques and processes.
