Senior Headhunter for Tech, IT, Engineering, ERP, Manufacturing, Operations, Leadership | Ferretti Search

Ferretti Search is proud to partner with an established industrial manufacturer to identify a Manufacturing Operations Manager for a high-mix production facility in Long Island. This is a senior plant leadership role with full ownership of day-to-day operations, safety, and continuous improvement across a multi-shift environment.

Location: Long Island (Onsite)

Compensation: $120,000 to $180,000 base salary plus 4 to 6 percent bonus

• Plant ownership: Lead a multi-shift operation producing metal components and assemblies with stamping, forming, and light assembly processes.
• Impact at scale: Drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost outcomes using data, visual management, and structured problem solving.
• Modernization runway: Upgrade legacy processes and equipment while standardizing workflows and reducing waste.
• Visible leadership: Report to senior operations leadership, partner closely with quality, supply chain, and engineering, and set the tone for a high-engagement culture.

• Direct all production activities across two shifts, including planning, staffing, daily tier meetings, and performance tracking.
• Lead safety programs, Gemba walks, and incident prevention, with clear accountability for OSHA compliance and machine guarding.
• Improve throughput and on-time delivery by optimizing flow, changeover, and material presentation.
• Implement KPI dashboards and cadence reviews for scrap, downtime, schedule attainment, and labor efficiency.
• Coach production managers and supervisors, develop standard work, and reinforce 5S and visual controls.
• Collaborate with quality on defect reduction and corrective actions, with supply chain on material availability, and with engineering on process changes.
• Manage plant budgets below the revenue line, including operating expense control and capital requests.

• Plant leader: Proven experience running production within an industrial or discrete manufacturing environment.
• Process driver: Strong background in lean, standard work, and continuous improvement tools.
• Safety focused: Track record implementing practical machine and operator safeguards.
• People developer: Skilled at building teams, setting expectations, and coaching frontline leaders.
• Technical acumen: Comfortable with metalworking operations and reading manufacturing drawings.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, or related field preferred. Comparable experience considered.
• Plus: Six Sigma or safety certifications are a benefit.
