We are seeking an entry-level to early-career Manufacturing Scientist/Engineer to support upstream operations within antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) manufacturing in an oncology-focused pharmaceutical environment. This role combines hands‑on manufacturing with process ownership, continuous improvement, and technical problem‑solving.
You will have knowledge of process equipment and systems and manufacturing operations with the primary responsibility to execute process and equipment operation activities during manufacturing operations. Due to your expertise in the manufacturing domain, you may participate in training for operational qualifications and assist the Team Lead or other team members as needed. You will conduct all activities in accordance with Company policies and standard operating procedures, Pfizer Values, and global regulatory guidelines, environmental guidelines etc.
Key Responsibilities- Execute upstream manufacturing processes including fermentation.
- Operate solvent‑based recovery.
- Perform multi‑stage chemical synthesis.
- Operate within a multi‑step drug substance production process.
- Prepare buffers and support in‑house reagent production.
- Own and execute assigned processes end-to‑end (not shift hand‑off based).
- Perform process monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Process qualifications and validation.
- Tech transfers and new product introductions.
- Author technical documentation, including reports, SOPs, batch records.
- Collaborate with engineering and cross‑functional teams.
- Involve use of specialized PPE and handling of cytotoxic materials under strict safety protocols.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong understanding of scientific principles and laboratory/manufacturing practices.
- Ability to learn complex processes and equipment.
- Exposure to pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing.
- Knowledge of GMP environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
