Manufacturing Engineer – Kingston, NY

Howmet Fastening Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the manufacturing department, focusing on work methods, production processes, and tooling to produce products to specifications and business objectives. This on‑site position reports to the Manufacturing and Technology Engineering Manager in the Kingston, NY facility.

• Develop and update process sheets, routings, and operation sketches; design production tooling and prepare CNC programs using CAM systems or manual methods.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing operations and provide technical support to the production floor, acting as the primary liaison with Product Engineering, Accounting, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement, increased efficiency, and cost savings; recommend and coordinate implementation of process improvements.
• Coordinate the evaluation, justification, selection, and implementation of capital equipment on the manufacturing floor.
• Prepare cost estimates for production of new, revised, or low‑volume parts.
• Maintain and update routing and Bill of Materials (BOM) data within the Management Information System.
• Support facility engineering efforts by participating in plant layout development and preparation of plant layout drawings.
• Recommend and implement product design and specification changes to improve product quality and manufacturability.
• Design and draft production fixtures and tooling; evaluate cutting tool requirements and implement appropriate tooling solutions.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Annual salary range: $86,000 – $106,000.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Edge Cam or similar; working knowledge of PTC Creo Elements/Direct Drafting and Siemens NX 3‑D CAD.
• Manufacturing experience in metal cutting and CNC machining.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.

Preferred Qualifications

• Seven (7) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
