Overview
The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems in a high-volume food manufacturing environment. This role ensures maximum equipment uptime, supports food safety compliance, and contributes to overall operational efficiency through effective preventative maintenance and timely response to equipment issues.
Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Repair- Perform preventive maintenance on all production equipment, including band saws, meat grinders & patty makers, rollstock packaging machines, vacuum / chamber sealers, pallet jacks, laser cutters and automated equipment and sorting / processing equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and basic electrical issues to minimize downtime
- Respond quickly to equipment failures during production hours
- Perform general maintenance and repairs across the facility, including production areas, Storage and warehouse spaces and Basic infrastructure (doors, drains, lighting, etc.)
- Support upkeep of a clean, safe, and compliant work environment
- Execute and help improve structured PM schedules across all equipment
- Track recurring issues and recommend long-term fixes
- Ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently
- Maintain strict adherence to USDA regulations, food safety standards, sanitation and washdown procedures
- Ensure equipment is maintained in a way that supports cleanability, product integrity, and regulatory compliance
- Identify opportunities to reduce downtime, improve throughput and extend equipment life
- Provide recommendations on equipment upgrades, new equipment purchases and process improvements
- 2+ years of Experience with food manufacturing equipment, packaging systems (rollstock / vacuum sealers) and basic electrical systems
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and USDA / food safety environments
- Welding or light fabrication experience
- Exposure to automation or advanced equipment (laser cutting, sorting systems)
- Ability to lift and move weights up to 50 lbs.
- Standing or walking for long periods of time, up to 8 hours
- Bending, stooping, squatting, reaching and kneeling
- Ability to work in a wet and cold environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Golden Meat Warehouse (Onsite)
- Cold environment with temperatures averaging between 36 – 38 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Fast-paced meat packing facility
- May be exposed to loud machinery and equipment
