Location: New York

Shift: Monday‑Friday 6:00am‑4:30pm.

Pay: $16‑17.50.

Job Summary

The Sorter is responsible for ensuring proper placement and sorting of materials on the conveyor line.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Inspect materials and sort items into piles or containers according to type, size, condition, coloring, or paper grade.
  • Pull contaminants out of paper or off the floor.
  • Stack boxes and skids and dump boxes and totes of material.
  • Feed wastepaper onto the conveyor.
  • Clean up the conveyor and surrounding sorting line; keep the work area clean.
  • Read the monitor for machine start‑up and ensure the machine operates properly and at a moderate speed.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for operating and maintaining equipment.
  • Report any worker safety factors or equipment malfunctions.
  • Attend weekly/monthly safety and operations meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • No experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited).

Field Conditions

This job operates both inside a garage, shop, or gas plant and outdoors, including inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
