Location & Work Schedule

Onsite – East Aurora, NY (Buffalo area). 2nd shift, Monday – Friday 3:00pm-11:30pm.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED preferred; otherwise demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written, and computer work instructions or training in English, and perform basic arithmetic.
  • At least 1 year of related welding experience, or basic vocational or technical education in a related field.
Responsibilities
  • Operate electron beam (EB) welding and other arc welding equipment.
  • Perform orbital welding (semi‑automatic TIG tube welding) in a clean room environment; set up and prep, operate tube trimming equipment, maintain cleanliness standards.
  • Follow and advise on written setup procedures.
  • Operate Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding equipment, manual and semi‑automatic.
  • Set up, adjust equipment, operate, inspect parts, and perform preventative maintenance routines: check oil, change filament on EB welders, clean filters and vacuum chamber, disassemble and realign electron gun.
  • Participate in electronic and mechanical modifications to equipment.
  • Work from welding schedule and worksheets, defining voltage, amperage, and travel distance; interpolate operator aids to meet job requirements.
  • Apply operator techniques for alignment, distance, slope control, power settings, geometry of weld, and proximity to edge.
  • Assemble weld process–related hardware and install fixtures, create a weld sample, prepare for inspection, and inspect results under a microscope to verify requirements.
  • Inspect parts and fixtures under a microscope for weld requirements and workmanship quality; use drop gauge and indicator for dimensional inspection.
  • Work with diversified production and prototype parts and bodies, typically completely machined at the time of welding.
  • Determine operating requirements for voltage, temperature, position, time, and capacities when precise instructions are not available.
  • Set, monitor, and adjust numerous controls for each weld, depending on material type and setup; some setups may require CNC programming and the use of mathematics, including trigonometry.
  • Familiar with equipment operation and welding processes, materials properties, initiate prototype work, perform complex welds, and report results.
  • Observe unusual conditions and report to supervisor or engineering.

Salary Range

Buffalo, NY: $22.00–$27.00 hourly. Base salary reflects range; actual salaries vary by location, experience, performance. Additional rewards include annual bonuses, ESOP, open paid time off, and region‑specific benefits.
