Position Summary:
The Quarry Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, productions, activities, maintenance functions, and personnel at a quarry facility. The role ensures the safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction, processing, and distribution of aggregate materials while maintaining compliance with all company policies, environmental regulations, and federal, state, and local safety requirements.
Job Description:
- Supervise and lead quarry personnel, including equipment operators, laborers, and maintenance staff.
- Plan and manage daily production schedules to meet operational targets.
- Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and company safety policies.
- Monitor drilling, blasting, crushing, and screening activities.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs of equipment to minimize downtime.
- Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Track production metrics, material inventory, and operational costs.
- Collaborate with management on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train and mentor team members to maintain a skilled workforce.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in quarry, mining, or aggregate operations.
- 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of crushing operations, plant systems, and heavy equipment.
- Familiarity with MSHA regulations.
- Ability to read production reports and manage operational efficiency.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
