CNC Machinist I (Second Shift)
Location:
East Syracuse, NY Job Type: Full-Time Pay: $27.00–$36.00 per hour, plus an additional 10% second shift differential
Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist I to join their second-shift manufacturing team in East Syracuse, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist with experience in CNC setup, operation, and process optimization who is looking to grow with a well-established precision manufacturing company.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate 3-axis and 4-axis horizontal and vertical CNC machining centers.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings to produce precision-machined components.
- Select the appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machining parameters for each job.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make real-time process adjustments to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
- Train and mentor less experienced machinists as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 7 years of CNC machining experience with machine setup, operation, and optimization.
- Experience operating both horizontal and vertical CNC machining centers.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining and programming principles.
- Ability to edit and write basic CNC macros.
- Ability to identify and resolve machining issues during setup and production.
- Strong blueprint reading skills with a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and indicators.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and stoop throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds as needed.
- Competitive hourly pay of $27.00–$36.00, based on experience.
