Packaging Operator

Location: Norwich, NY – 158 State Hwy. 320, Norwich, NY 13815

Pay: $21.00 per hour with $1000 sign‑on bonus after 90 days. Overtime eligible.

Schedule: Rotating 12‑hour shifts (7:15AM‑7:45PM) – 3 on, 3 off, 2 on, 2 off with every other weekend off.

• Package hydrolyzed protein batches efficiently while maintaining product and packaging quality.
• Issue finished product labels and sample labels.
• Take in‑process samples and additional samples requested by the sample room or quality.
• Use proper maintenance and cleaning procedures for packaging equipment.
• Set up the packager for each batch, inspect screens, ensure correct tare weight and package material.
• Keep the area clean and orderly.
• Operate forklift truck safely and follow all safety measures.
• Run the packaging system and coordinate with the dryer operator to adjust speeds if needed.
• Lift 55lb bags or boxes at least once per minute.
• Maintain documentation in the Master Batch Record, SAP, logbooks and other required records.
• Perform all SAP transactions to keep inventory accurate with packaging materials.
• Demonstrate leadership in safety by observing rules, enforcing practices, encouraging safe behaviors and correcting unsafe conditions.
• May be required to handle hazardous waste (internal training provided).

• Good working knowledge of arithmetic and confident use of it.
• Neat and consistent work habits.
• Clear, legible writing.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions from the department supervisor or shift group leader.
• Strict adherence to company policies while using common sense for daily decisions.
• Flexibility to adjust schedule to departmental needs.
• Understanding that overtime may be required.
• Computer skills, including SAP transactions.

• Previous manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of multiple job functions preferred.
• Demonstrated multitasking ability.
• Leadership by influence.
