Machining Technical Trainer

As a Machining Technical Trainer you will train, mentor and develop employees in CNC and manual lathe machining skills to support precision manufacturing operations. The role is based in East Aurora, NY on an onsite schedule.
Responsibilities- Deliver hands‑on instruction in lathe machining: machine setup, tooling selection, blueprint interpretation, inspection techniques and troubleshooting.
- Translate Moog product and process knowledge into targeted learning opportunities to close skills gaps.
- Coach and mentor students on machining safety and best practices.
- Design, develop, and implement technical training courses for all skill levels.
- Analyze skill gaps to identify training needs and create customized learning plans.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align training programs with organizational goals and industry standards.
- Assess training effectiveness through feedback and performance metrics, and recommend improvements.
- Demonstrate and propagate Moog’s culture and values in all training activities.
- Secondary school qualification (high‑school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent) or basic vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
- Minimum seven (7) years of lathe machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in delivering technical training and mentoring machinists on CNC and manual machines.
- Extensive knowledge of lathe machining processes including machine setup, tooling, blueprint reading, inspection methods, and safe machining practices.
- Ability to coordinate and deliver workshops, seminars, and online courses.
- Strong skill in translating technical requirements into effective training initiatives to close skills gaps.
- Excellent communication skills for teaching and mentoring.
- Positive attitude and passion for helping others grow.
- Proficiency in IT tools and systems such as Teamcenter and MBS.
- Experience training machinists in aerospace, defense or other highly skilled manufacturing environments.
