Swiss Lathe Machinist IV – 2nd Shift

Leader, Performance
- Perform precision machining operations and CNC programming on CAM systems to create, repair, or alter a wide variety of complex parts, fixtures, tooling, sub‑assemblies, and assemblies of all types of materials.
- Plan, fixture, and layout jobs while maintaining very tight tolerances (.0001–.0002 inches).
- Inspect and ensure quality of all work performed, holding responsibility for the final product.
- Collaborate with Design Draftsmen and Manufacturing Engineers to identify and resolve issues, including detecting unusual conditions and handling defective materials.
- Make technical decisions regarding fixturing, tooling, set‑up, and inspection methods when clear instructions are not available.
- High school diploma or GED preferred; demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written, and computer work instructions.
- Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a diversified machinist, including experience with Swiss lathes and preferably Star Machines.
- Knowledge of G & M codes.
- Experience in inspection and quality control.
- Previous CAD/CAM experience is a plus.
- Ability to hold very tight tolerances and make technical decisions independently.
- Hourly base salary: $37.00–$41.00 (Buffalo, NY range).
- Sign‑on bonus for qualified candidates.
