Position Summary

This cross‑functional position is responsible for planning material kitting, staging and flow to support manufacturing for multiple builds, phases, and teams. The individual ensures that required materials are staged, identified and traceable for planned fabrication. This role is critical to achieving high quality, efficient, and traceable fabrication aligned with quality manufacturing and customer requirements.

Job Responsibilities /Duties
  • Develop material packages based on engineered drawings, bill of materials (BOMs), work plans, interpret material takeoffs (MTOs) and BOMs to ensure all required materials are ordered, tracked, and available.
  • Track material receipt for planned work.
  • Identify any material that is not available (not procured or received yet). Ideally work to a 90 day look‑ahead.
  • Organize material logically based on drawing in coordination with sequencing as defined in the work plans and fabrication schedule.
  • Stage material to support upcoming fabrication sequences. Ensure fabrication staff has ready access to required materials as needed.
  • Pre‑stage material based on fabrication look‑ahead.
  • Assist fabrication staff in real‑time for moving larger materials that are not practical to be staged from their storage location to the fabrication location.
  • Maintain traceability for all materials, ensuring alignment with quality documentation. Coordinate with receipt and inspection, tag and stage materials per build phase and fabrication priority.
  • Serve as the central point of material coordination among fabrication, project management, procurement and quality assurance.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology or Supply Chain (Bachelor’s preferred). Additional relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • 2+ years in fabrication planning, material control, or manufacturing coordination (piping skids, pressure vessels, structural builds, or similar) preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, BOMs, and work plans is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO‑9001, NQA‑1, ASME, and traceability requirements for nuclear or critical‑service equipment is preferred but not required.
Key Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office is required.
  • Capable of coordinating all material needs for complex fabrication builds with multiple dependencies.
  • Detail‑oriented, highly organized, and effective cross‑department communicator.
  • Able to operate in fast‑paced, high‑accountability environments with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and other medium intensity physical activities.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (e.g., crane).
