To assist in the everyday pre-finishing duties, which include but are not limited to assisting in paint or automation/expedition of product through the paint line, assisting in packaging functions of the paint line, assisting with safe assembly of corner products, and operating a manual spray booth as assigned, under daily direction.
Key Responsibilities- Adequately understand and operate the equipment and functions of an assigned area on one line.
- Check supplies to ensure smooth operation, refill if stock is low.
- Perform general preventative maintenance and make minor adjustments to maintain equipment in good operating order.
- Provide general relief in support of line positions during assigned breaks.
- Perform general clean‑up and utility duties as assigned, including sweeping floors, picking up trash, painting, and cleaning equipment.
- Operate mobile equipment and power industrial vehicles, as assigned.
- Operate hand‑held tools and equipment including heat gun, manual paint gun, stapler, and banding equipment.
- Perform visual inspections and make hourly checks regarding quality of board condition and package appearance to ensure all products meet quality standards.
- Other duties or responsibilities not listed above may be assigned as necessary.
- Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
- Understand and execute proper radio etiquette while communicating with appropriate parties.
- Knowledge of equipment safety features, operating features, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of position, duties, and functions captured in standard operating procedure documents.
- The ability to properly assemble corners and manually paint units while following safety standards.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Time management and prioritizing skills.
- Knowledge of general plant operation functions and housekeeping requirements.
- Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience preferred.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
- Plant environment.
- Exposure to dust, noise, and fluctuations in temperature.
- Standing 90% of the time.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.
- Medically cleared and able to wear respiratory protection (half‑face respirator).
