Plant Operator – Daniels' Medical Waste Treatment Facility
Location:
Walton, KY.
A Plant Operator’s role includes checking in containers, double checking paperwork, moving and unloading specific waste containers, and operating a forklift to load an autoclave. The ideal candidate enjoys variety and can think through practical problems.
Responsibilities- Weigh incoming regulated medical waste containers using the weighbridge
- Load and operate the autoclave machine (waste treatment equipment)
- Recertify 55‑gallon drums for safe reuse
- Count universal waste (light bulbs, batteries, etc.) and add them to manifests
- Lift up to 75 lbs and handle 55‑gallon drums throughout the shift
- Stand for extended periods in a non‑office, industrial setting
- Follow written processes and safety procedures every time
- Complete paperwork accurately and double‑check counts and labels
- Spot and report issues with containers, paperwork, or equipment right away
- Work closely with teammates and supervisors to keep the plant running smoothly
- Help train others once you are competent in specific tasks
- Maintain a "can‑do" attitude and commitment to safe, efficient work
- Experience in a labor‑intensive, warehouse, industrial, or manufacturing job
- Proven reliability and tenure with previous employers
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds safely and repeatedly
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Comfortable working around medical and universal waste with PPE
- Able to stay productive without constant supervision and look for the next task
- Takes ownership when something is wrong and follows through on corrections
- Works respectfully with coworkers and leaders, even under pressure
- Looking for stable, long‑term work to support personal and family responsibilities
- Job stability – essential service, non‑seasonal and recession proof
- Opportunities for overtime – extra hands on deck often needed
- Consistent work hours:
Monday‑Thursday 2:00 PM–12:30 AM, Saturdays/Overtime as needed - Full‑time position – 40 hours per week with benefits, sick leave, and vacation from day one
- Competitive salary – $20 per hour
