Type: Contract
Compensation: $24.50/hr
Work Model: Onsite. Contract to possible hire.
Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, etc.)
Our client is seeking dependable Material Handlers / Forklift Operators to support daily manufacturing operations. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with the potential to become a permanent employee based on performance and business needs.
In this role, you'll help keep production running by making sure manufacturing lines have the materials they need. You'll safely move raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods throughout the facility using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
Material Handler / Forklift Operator Responsibilities:- Supply production lines with raw materials and packaging materials.
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment to move materials throughout the plant.
- Receive, unload, and store incoming shipments.
- Transport finished products from production to warehouse storage.
- Maintain accurate inventory by recording material movements in the warehouse system.
- Complete daily forklift inspections and equipment checklists.
- Assist with inventory counts and report damaged or missing materials.
- Keep warehouse and production areas clean, organized, and stocked.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and operating procedures.
- Work closely with production teams to support daily manufacturing goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling experience preferred.
- Forklift operating experience required; certification is a plus.
- Experience supporting production lines, inventory control, shipping, or receiving is preferred.
- Basic computer skills; SAP or warehouse management system experience is a plus.
- Basic math, reading, and communication skills.
- Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the workday.
- Ability to work overtime when needed.
