Material Handler I

Location: Newark

Position Overview:

The Material Handler I is responsible for following standard operating and safety procedures to perform a variety of stockroom functions that may include counting and verifying material received, filling backorders, packaging materials for stock, physically storing materials away, picking materials from stock to fill specific order quantities, performing other standard stock-keeping functions, while always being diligent to safeguard and prevent damage to all materials handled.

Job Responsibilities:

* Maintains an organized and efficient stockroom.

* Using a scanner, pulls material and issue for production.

* Enters data and completes various system transactions on a computer.

* Validates physical material and counts matches inventory system and identifies any discrepancies.

* Operates various material-handling equipment, ESD workstations, electronic scales, counting equipment, bag sealers, pallet jacks, and uses skids, pallets and carts to complete work tasks.

* Uses a variety of packaging and handling methods to protect the materials from damage.

* Other duties as assigned.

Experience:

* Must be certified in one Core Function (Kitting, Expediting, Outside Services) within this profile with High Quality work performance and 1 year of Service before training in the Material Handler II level.

Skills and Abilities:

* Reading comprehension

* Attention to detail

* Good hand eye coordination

* Effectively use computer; beginner Excel helpful

* Follow written and verbal instructions

* Ability to work closely with others and have good communication skills.

* Willingness to learn and cross train with different department in the warehouse

Education & Experience:

* High School Diploma or GED

* Able to work flexible hours and overtime as required.
