The Swing Shift Supervisor will work a shift that over laps our 1st Shift 7am to 3:30pm and 2nd Shift 3:30pm to 12am

As a Production Supervisor at Viking Packaging, you will play a pivotal role in driving safety, production, quality, and efficiency through our production team. Your expertise in manufacturing and production leadership will be crucial in nurturing the talents of our production team members to meet the needs of our customers.
Responsibilities What You'll Do Supervision and Team Management:- Supervise a team of up to 30+ individuals in the daily production of quality corrugated products, ensuring a safe and productive environment with minimal waste.
- Establish and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring all employees follow safety policies.
- Foster high morale through fairness, consistency, and addressing employee concerns while maintaining confidentiality.
- Maintain quality, efficiency, and production levels as set by management.
- Oversee the day-to-day loading of trucks, including associated paperwork.
- Monitor and manage inventories of converting supplies.
- Keep upper management informed of departmental issues that may affect performance.
- Enforce corrective action procedures as needed and conduct meetings with violating employees.
- Coordinate with maintenance and management on repairs or preventive maintenance activities.
- Develop a cross-training plan to ensure shift performance and success.
- Work with employees to promote and support their professional growth.
- Implement continuous improvement actions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure organizational and attention-to-detail standards are met.
- Manage multiple issues concurrently, prioritize workload, and work under pressure to achieve performance goals.
- 5 years of manufacturing expereince
- 2 to 4 year proven track record of successful production management in a similar role.
- College degree preferred;
High School Diploma/GED required. - Enthusiastic, goal-oriented, safety-minded and a results-driven leader.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong leadership, crisis management, and conflict resolution skills
- Superior time management skills, including the ability to prioritize workload.
- Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing and 5S
- Computer skills:
Proficient in E-mail, Excel, Word, and company software. - Understanding operating cost, knowledge of cost issues to make decisions that reduce overall costs.
- Ability to analyze data for identifying areas of improvement.
- Good mechanical abilities
- Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction of fractions.
- Ability to read and understand measurements on a tape measure.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Additional duties may be assigned by management.
