Location: West Henrietta

Rochester Precision Optics LLC is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator to support our advanced optics manufacturing facility in New York. In this on-site role, you will develop and maintain EHS programs that protect employees, facilities, and the environment across imaging, aerospace, defense, and medical production. Responsibilities include conducting inspections and audits, leading incident investigations, managing hazardous materials and waste, and ensuring OSHA/EPA compliance.

You will deliver training, track safety metrics, and partner with engineering and operations to drive a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures for a precision optics manufacturing facility
  • Conduct regular safety, environmental, and compliance inspections and audits across production and labs
  • Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Coordinate regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state/local requirements
  • Deliver EHS training, toolbox talks, and safety orientation for employees and contractors
  • Maintain EHS records, metrics, and documentation; prepare reports for leadership
  • Support risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and ergonomic evaluations for manufacturing processes
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations to integrate EHS into new equipment, processes, and layouts
  • Manage hazardous materials, waste handling, and spill response programs
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement in EHS performance
