The Machinist's primary functions are to fabricate, maintain, repair, and/or alters metal parts and metal objects using a variety of hand tools and metalworking machines.
Job DutiesJob Duties:
- Manufacturing parts from different materials to the drawings supplied.
- Handling of raw and stock materials from delivery to completion of parts.
- Maintaining tolerances as close as +- .005.
- Daily production of saw cutting, milling, turning, drilling, tapping, reaming, slotting, deburring, sanding, and grinding.
- Sets up and operates metalworking machines such as lathes and milling machines to machine parts to established specifications.
- Performs related duties such as cleaning work area, tools, and equipment; maintaining records and logs; and drawing sketches of metal parts or metal components to be machined.
- Measures, marks, and scribes metal stock following blueprints, diagrams and/or specifications and using square rule and scribe to prepare metal for machining operations.
- Sets up and operates metalworking machines such as lathes and milling machines to machine parts to established specifications.
- Reviews plans, specifications, diagrams, etc. to determine dimensions and tolerances of metal components to be machined and to determine the tools, materials and equipment required to complete assigned project.
- Other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work 6am-430pm Monday-Thursday.
- Must be flexible – OT and weekend are required as needed.
- Must be able to read/write.
- Must be able to work as part of a team and independently.
- Must be able to read and correctly interpret drawings.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Must be able to read measurement instruments such as Calipers, Micrometers, tape measure etc.
- Basic math skills to measure specifications.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- 2 years plus of manufacturing experience – HVAC industry preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements – Essential
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, pull, twist, and turn for long periods of time in a manufacturing environment (Varied based on daily tasks).
- Must be in good physical condition.
- Must have good hand/eye coordination.
Compensation: This is an hourly non-exempt role. The starting pay range for this role and market is between $18.00– $23.00/hour
. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography/market, and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible to earn overtime when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law).
Compensation: This is an hourly non-exempt role. The starting pay range for this role and market is between $20.00– $23.00/hour
