Technical Director

Superior Metals Manufacturing is seeking a Technical Director to lead advanced metal fabrication and production operations. In this key role, you will oversee plant processes, drive quality and safety programs, and guide implementation of modern machining, welding, and finishing technologies. You will manage engineering and maintenance teams, optimize workflow and equipment utilization, and support continuous improvement using lean and Six Sigma principles.

The Technical Director will collaborate with leadership on capital projects, meet demanding customer specifications, and mentor staff to build strong technical capabilities and a culture of precision, reliability, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee fabrication and production operations for metal components
• Drive plant-wide quality and safety programs and ensure compliance with standards
• Implement and optimize machining, welding, and finishing technologies
• Manage engineering, maintenance, and technical teams
• Optimize workflow, equipment utilization, and throughput
• Lead continuous improvement using lean and Six Sigma principles
• Plan and support capital projects and technology upgrades
• Collaborate with leadership to meet customer specifications and delivery targets
• Develop and track technical performance metrics and KPIs
• Mentor and develop staff to strengthen technical capabilities and teamwork
