POSITION
DESCRIPTION:
The Sanitation Specialist is responsible for supporting sanitation pre-operational inspections to ensure the quality of product is consistent with Company expectations and customer requirements.
- Supports the execution of sanitation programs to maintain plant cleanliness and adequate documentation.
- Administer sanitation pre-operational inspections, ensuring that the equipment meets sanitary standards and is approved to begin production run.
- Document sanitation activities, including inspection results, chemical monitoring, and completion of cleaning activities.
- Provide support to sanitation employees to accomplish daily tasks, ensuring they have the appropriate tools and are following proper sanitation protocol.
- Communicate effectively and make sound decisions informed by Company sanitation standards.
- Complete detailed inspections on equipment
- Support cross functional teams by ensuring that identified deviations are addressed through sanitation processes, mitigating the risk of out-of-spec product.
- Collect samples that will be tested for equipment cleanliness verifications.
- Assure a safe and sanitary work environment.
- All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
- All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
The pay for this position is $$55,300.00-$76,200.00. All offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees and certifications, and internal equity. This range is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS- Bachelor's degree or a high school diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing sanitation processes and related equipment.
- Ability to provide support and communicate clearly.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve routine issues.
- Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Must be able to work without relocation.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience.
- Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hardhats, respiratory protection, gloves, boots, aprons and/or safety glasses/goggles may be required.
- Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder, shoulder-to-overhead and pushing/pulling/carrying.
- Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend/twist neck and back; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
- Ability to tolerate humid, wet working environment with temperatures up to 70 degrees
F. - Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
