An established heavy steel fabrication business is expanding its operations and looking to appoint an experienced
Fabrication & Assembly Supervisor
to lead teams across fabrication, fitting, welding and assembly.

This is a hands-on shop-floor leadership position for someone who understands steel fabrication and knows how to drive production while maintaining high standards across safety, quality and output.

The Role

You'll take responsibility for the day-to-day execution of your area of the fabrication shop, ensuring people, production and priorities remain aligned throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Lead fabrication, fitting, welding and assembly activities
  • Ensure daily and shift production targets are achieved
  • Allocate labour effectively across the shop
  • Maintain and enforce safety standards
  • Ensure fabrication and assembly work meets required quality standards
  • Manage employee attendance and performance
  • Coordinate closely with planning and quality teams
  • Train and support shop-floor employees
  • Identify and report production problems
  • Support the efficient day-to-day running of fabrication operations

What We're Looking For

  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience within a structural steel or heavy fabrication environment
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of fabrication, fitting, welding and assembly processes
  • Experience leading shop-floor production teams and coordinating daily workloads
  • A good understanding of workplace safety and quality requirements within a fabrication shop
  • Ability to manage employee performance, attendance and day-to-day production priorities
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with planning and quality teams
  • Comfortable taking ownership of shift performance and resolving production issues as they arise
