Mining Utility Technician

Cargill is seeking a Mining Utility Technician to support production operations within our manufacturing and industrial facilities. In this role, you will operate and monitor mining and material-handling equipment, perform routine inspections, and complete basic mechanical and electrical maintenance to ensure safe, reliable performance. You will assist with ore and raw material movement, sampling, and quality checks, following strict safety and environmental standards.

Collaborating with a cross-functional team, you'll troubleshoot equipment issues, document work, and support continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and product quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor mining and material-handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Perform routine inspections and basic mechanical/electrical maintenance on equipment
• Support ore and raw material movement, sampling, and quality checks
• Follow all safety, health, and environmental regulations and procedures
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and assist with minor repairs or escalation
• Document maintenance activities, inspections, and production data accurately
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime

• Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Report hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly to supervisors
