Materion Corporation is seeking a skilled Machinist II to support our advanced materials manufacturing operations. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment to produce high-precision metal components for aerospace, electronics, energy, and other demanding applications. You will interpret blueprints, perform tooling changes, verify tight tolerances using precision measuring instruments, and document production and quality data.
Working in a safety- and quality-focused environment, you'll collaborate with teammates, help troubleshoot machining issues, and contribute to continuous improvement across a stable, innovation-driven operation.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and adjust CNC and manual machines to produce precision components
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine machining requirements
- Perform changeovers, tool offsets, and basic programming or edits at the machine control
- Monitor production, measure parts, and verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Maintain equipment through routine cleaning, inspection, and basic preventive maintenance
- Troubleshoot machining issues, resolve quality problems, and escalate complex concerns
- Document production data, quality checks, and maintenance activities accurately
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and 5
- S/lean manufacturing practices
