Duties & Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC machines for both prototype and production machining jobs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job specifications to ensure accurate part production.
  • Load tooling, perform machine setups, make adjustments, and verify machine readiness before production runs.
  • Monitor machine performance and make necessary offsets or adjustments to maintain part quality and dimensional accuracy.
  • Inspect finished and in-process parts using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, indicators, depth micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
  • Verify parts meet tight tolerance requirements, often as close as ±0.0005 inches.
  • Read and understand existing CNC programs to support machine setup and operation.
  • Prepare, change, sharpen, and maintain cutting tools to ensure efficient machine operation and minimize downtime.
  • Operate one or more CNC machines simultaneously when workload and job complexity allow.
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Machine a variety of materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, Inconel, Monel, and other specialty alloys.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following company and safety procedures.
  • Support a fast-paced manufacturing environment producing both low-volume prototype components and larger production runs.
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues to maintain production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards.
