Location: New York

Our client, a global leader in apparel design is looking for a Trim Manager to oversee trim development and sourcing.

Responsibilities
  • Research and develop trim components including hangtags, labels, jokers, patches, and other small trim packaging elements.
  • Source new trims and identify alternative vendors to support cost savings through competitive pricing and negotiations.
  • Maintain quality control standards for bulk trims, including approvals, testing, and compliance with company requirements.
  • Partner with vendors and factories to resolve quality issues and establish consistent trim standards.
  • Manage work in progress (WIP) charts and follow Time and Action calendars to ensure development and production timelines are met across multiple divisions.
  • Collaborate closely with the design team on seasonal trim development, sourcing strategies, and new trim concepts.
  • Communicate accurate label, trim, and packaging specifications to factories each season to ensure proper execution.
  • Monitor production requirements and manage trim inventory levels to meet projected demand.
  • Establish and maintain a seasonal trim library to support sourcing, counter sourcing, and easy access to existing trims, colors, and repeat programs.
  • Provide guidance to trim suppliers on corporate testing requirements, inspection policies, and technical specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to trims with vendors and manufacturing partners.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in trim development, sourcing, or production within apparel or related industries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrics, fibers, yarns, and trim materials.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills when working with vendors, factories, and internal teams.
