Location: Dryden

Cargill is seeking a Mining Utility Technician to support safe, efficient operation of our manufacturing and mining processes. In this role you will operate and monitor mobile and fixed plant equipment, perform basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, assist with preventative maintenance, and support material handling, crushing, and conveying systems. You will follow strict safety, environmental, and quality standards while keeping accurate logs and inspection records.

Working closely with production and maintenance teams, you'll help optimize uptime, respond to equipment issues, and contribute to continuous improvement across the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor mining and plant utility equipment safely and efficiently
  • Support material handling, crushing, conveying, and dewatering processes
  • Perform basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on equipment
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and minor repairs as directed
  • Complete routine inspections and maintain accurate operating logs
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality procedures and policies
  • Communicate equipment status and issues to supervisors and maintenance
  • Assist with start-up, shutdown, and cleaning of production lines
  • Identify and report hazards and participate in safety initiatives
  • Support continuous improvement and housekeeping (5
  • S) in work areas

Required Skills

  • Mining or heavy industrial equipment operation
  • Material handling systems (conveyors, crushers, feeders)
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting
  • Basic electrical and instrumentation awareness
  • Preventive maintenance practices
  • Reading gauges, meters, and process indicators
  • Lockout/tagout and industrial safety procedures
  • Use of hand and power tools
  • Equipment inspection and documentation
  • Understanding of environmental and quality standards
