Watts Internship Program

What You’ll Do

We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented intern to join our Quality and Production Engineering Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment while contributing to meaningful projects that support operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Production Engineers by contributing to project execution and daily operational tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Purchasing, Sustaining Engineering, and Production Supervisors to advance project goals.
  • Design and develop fixturing and tooling solutions to enhance production cell efficiency.
  • Create and revise factory floor layouts to optimize space utilization and workflow.
  • Engage directly with production cells and operators on the factory floor to observe, learn, and support operations.
  • Analyze cycle times for assemblies and unit production to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
  • Measure and document improvements resulting from implemented changes to validate impact and support continuous improvement efforts.

Who You Are
  • Current student pursuing your bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/mechanical engineering.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrates a strong passion for engineering and a genuine desire to contribute meaningfully to team objectives.
  • Committed to integrity, respect, and fostering a positive, inclusive work environment.
  • Exhibits a strong sense of accountability, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and follow through on commitments.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.

The expected salary range for this position is $22-$26 an hour. Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws.
