CNC Machinist, Machine Operator
CNC Machinist - Entry Level - real machine time from day one. $25-$30/hr, day shift, West Nyack NY.
We're a 35-person shop in a 33,000 sq ft facility, family-owned since 1934, ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D certified. We machine acrylic, polycarbonate, UHMW, PTFE and other engineering plastics, and we've expanded into aluminum and steel, for aerospace, industrial, retail display and prototype customers.
This is for someone fresh out of a technical school or CNC/machining program who wants real shop hours, not more classroom time. You'll work alongside our head machinist, who has over 30 years on the floor, running actual production and prototype work - a Haas UMC-500 5-axis, VMCs, live-tooling lathes, a 5-axis router. We program in CAMWorks off SOLIDWORKS. If your school touched either, great.
If not, we'll teach you.
- $25-$30/hr to start, paid bi-weekly. Real room to grow from there.
- - Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30. Occasional overtime when a job runs long.
- - Health, dental, life, 401(k), paid vacation, sick leave and 10 paid holidays.
- - You learn from someone with 30+ years on the floor, not a video.
- - We're growing into metals. Get in now and grow with it.
- - 92 years in business. We're not going anywhere.
- Technical school certificate or coursework in CNC machining, or equivalent hands-on training.
- - Can read a blueprint and use calipers and micrometers.
- - Comfortable around CNC equipment - operating it in school counts.
- - HS diploma or GED, driver's license, reliable ride to West Nyack.
- - Available for the Monday to Friday day schedule.
No shop-floor job experience yet? That's fine, that's what this role is for. Tell us about your coursework.
NICE TO HAVE- Any exposure to CAMWorks, SOLIDWORKS or another CAM package
- - Shop or lab hours on a mill or lathe
- - Interest in plastics as well as metal - we run both
