CNC Machinist, Manufacturing Engineer
CNC Machinist - 3D prototype work in plastics, aluminum and steel. $25-$40/hr, day shift, West Nyack NY.
We're a 35-person shop, family-owned since 1932, ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D certified. We machine acrylic, polycarbonate, UHMW, PTFE and other engineering plastics, and we've expanded into aluminum and steel, for aerospace, industrial, retail display and prototype customers. Short runs, constant variety, and you own the part from setup through inspection.
The work is three-dimensional: contoured and sculpted parts cut from 3D models, programmed in CAMWorks off SOLIDWORKS. You'll run a Haas UMC-500 5-axis, three VMCs (Haas VF-2, Fadal 4020, Akira-Seiki SR3), four lathes including a Haas ST-35Y with live tooling and two Okumas, and a 5-axis DMS router. We inspect on a Zeiss CMM. You'll cut plastic, aluminum and steel. If you've only run metal, we'll teach you the plastics side - feeds, heat and chip control are different, and it's a skill worth having.
