Job Summary:
The Industrial Engineer (IE) is a key member of the Continuous Improvement team, leading and supporting high-impact initiatives across Distribution operations. This role identifies and executes opportunities to reduce costs, improve quality, increase capacity, maximize processing efficiencies, and enhance customer satisfaction. The IE evaluates processes, challenges existing practices, and drives sustainable improvements through the application of Lean, Six Sigma, and Industrial Engineering principles, supported by data-driven analysis, standardized workflows, and performance management.
Operating in a highly cross-functional environment, the role partners with Operations, Supply Chain, Safety, Quality, Engineering, and IT, while collaborating with Global Operational Excellence teams to deploy and align with company-wide initiatives with occasional support to other sites. This position manages multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment to business priorities and successful delivery from concept through implementation using structured problem-solving and project management methodologies.
The IE may also engage vendors and external partners to support process, equipment, and technology initiatives. The Industrial Engineer improves operational performance within Distribution by enabling more efficient, consistent, and scalable processes. This role drives measurable business impact through strong project leadership, analytical capability, translation of business priorities into actionable improvements, and driving strategy into practical operational execution.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
- Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization
- Identify, prioritize, and execute opportunities to improve operational performance.
- Analyze current-state processes to eliminate waste and increase efficiency.
- Develop and implement sustainable solutions using structured industrial engineering methodologies.
- Establish, sustain, and standardize improvements through clear documentation and repeatable processes.
- Cost Reduction & Productivity Improvement
- Identify and execute initiatives to reduce operational costs and improve productivity.
- Build business cases to justify investments and improvement efforts.
- Track and validate financial impact, ensuring initiatives deliver expected savings and performance outcomes.
- Project Execution & Delivery
- Lead and execute multiple concurrent improvement initiatives from concept through implementation.
- Define objectives, approach, and success criteria aligned with business priorities.
- Apply structured problem-solving methods to analyze issues and develop effective solutions.
- Drive timely execution and ensure initiatives deliver measurable operational and financial impact.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Safety, Quality, Engineering, and IT teams.
- Facilitate workshops, kaizen events, and stakeholder alignment sessions.
