Competitive triathletes and passionate bakers, Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald left their careers to open a small bread shop in New York City in 1995 — Levain Bakery.

One day, they baked a BIG chocolate chip walnut cookie as energy for triathlon training. At Levain, a batch of these 6-ounce cookies flew off the shelves, and an icon was born. The cozy shop on West 74th Street became a neighborhood favorite and a destination for epicurious visitors from around the world, hungry for “the cookie.”

From the start, Pam, Connie, and the team baked everything fresh on-site each day, donating the day’s leftovers to charity — and we still do, nearly 30 years later. Today, Levain has bakeries across the country (with more to come!), plus ecommerce gift boxes to treat cookie lovers in every state.

The Food Manufacturing Production Supervisor will oversee daily cookie dough production for all of Levain’s east coast locations and ensures each and every one of our world-famous cookies is the absolute best quality possible. The Food Manufacturing Production Supervisor coaches and motivates team members to achieve production efficiency standards and quality. The ideal Food Manufacturing Production Supervisor candidate has high emotional intelligence and a knack for operating in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development
• Proven experience with food manufacturing sanitation processes
• Experience with maintenance and repair; mechanical aptitude
• Excellent relationship management skills: communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Results-oriented approach with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
• Resilient, self-motivated, and able to work well under pressure

• Supervise production staff to achieve quality, labor, and product standards
• Supervise staff on the execution of projects, product testing, or other non-standard activities as assigned by the Production Manager or General Manager
• Perform some light maintenance
• Supervise all sanitation activities to ensure all SSOP’s are followed and documented

• Demonstrate excellent communication practices to create an environment of accountability and clarity around missions, projects, and deliverables
• Work collaboratively and support our Ecomm business as directed

• Support the Employee Safety Program by ensuring that all personnel work in a safe manner
• Identify and take action to prevent unsafe practices or situations that could compromise employee safety
