Position Summary:
  • The Paint / Coating Finisher is responsible for preparing, mixing, matching, and maintaining finishing materials such as paints, stains, and coatings used in production.
  • This role requires a highly organized individual with strong technical skills, excellent color‑matching abilities, and knowledge of chemical components used in coatings.
  • The Finisher ensures consistency, quality, and efficiency in all finishing processes while adhering to safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, mix, and adjust paints, stains, dyes, and coatings according to company formulas, specifications, and production requirements.
  • Perform accurate color matching using visual assessment and/or color‑matching tools.
  • Maintain detailed records of formulas, batches, and adjustments for repeatability and quality control.
  • Conduct quality checks on materials to ensure proper viscosity, color consistency, and application performance.
  • Organize and maintain inventory of chemicals, pigments, solvents, and related supplies.
  • Assist with testing new coatings, materials, and application methods as part of process improvement or R&D activities.
  • Troubleshoot coating issues such as adhesion problems, color variations, or finishing defects.
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of all chemicals and hazardous materials in compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
  • Collaborate with production teams, supervisors, and quality control personnel to meet daily schedules and product standards.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training in finishing, coatings, or chemistry preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in paint mixing, coatings, finishing, or related manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of paint, stain, and coating ingredients, including solvents, pigments, binders, and catalysts.
  • Excellent color perception and ability to distinguish subtle variations in shade and tone.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple batches, formulas, and tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic mechanical and technical aptitude, including ability to use mixing equipment, spray equipment, and testing tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret formulas, SDS sheets, and technical instructions.
Preferred

Skills:
  • Experience in wood finishing or cabinet manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with digital color‑matching tools.
  • Understanding production workflows and learning manufacturing principles.
